About the event
During my artistic research and curatorial internship at Wanås Konst in South Sweden, I concentrated on studying the archive materials of the institution and its long-standing work with site-specific art. My focus was on understanding how artists connected to the place were exhibited and how the curatorial profile of Wanås Konst has been consistently reflected in its shows. This involved working with both printed and online sources as well as accessing the center’s electronic archive.
Alongside this study, I developed my own reflections on curatorial strategies and the ways in which they shape the dialogue between art, environment, and audience. Observing Wanås Konst’s ability to sustain a strong curatorial identity across decades of programming gave me insight into how curating can embody both continuity and innovation.
